The 11th Emma Stuart Memorial Symposium 2020

CONTROVERSIES and INNOVATION in Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis

Thursday 12th March 2020 | International Centre for Life, Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne

The Emma Stuart Symposium and Lecture was set up in 2000 in memory of the daughter of the Professor of Pathology who died aged 18 in the 1980’s following a colectomy complicated by pulmonary embolus. Following this her family emigrated to the Middle East and returned in the late 1990’s and set up a memorial fund with a request that we have a symposium and lecture in her memory every two years. We have had a series of very distinguished lecturers including Krisztina Gecse, Gert Van Assche, Laurent Beaugerie, Edouard Louis, Severine Vermiere, Stefan Schreiber, Simon Murch, Bjorn Moum, Jacques Cosnes and Paul Ruttgeerts.

The audience is around 120 IBD clinicians, gastroenterology surgeons and paediatricians.
